“You used to take pictures of me so that you could ‘capture me in moments forever’, At the time I thought it was sweet, You’d take pictures of me with my body draped across your own, bare skin pressed to yours, asleep, You had saved copies of me eating breakfast or drinking coffee that I didn’t even really like just so I could stay awake, You had pictures of me doing normal things in every day life, There’s a saying that each picture taken captures part of your soul, When you left I started to believe it was true, Now here I am six years later, more myself than ever, I think maybe you captured my soul in those pictures, but only the parts of me I didn’t need anymore, You captured the bits of me I was finished with, Now I’m a stronger, better, more wholesome me.”
